About the Project

The Timeless Trees Project is a photographic journey into the heart of our urban forests, seeking out and documenting the oldest, most magnificent trees that have stood witness to centuries of human history.

This project aims to create a visual archive of these living monuments. Each tree tells a story of resilience, of change, of the intricate relationship between nature and civilization.

Through careful documentation and artistic photography, we honor these silent sentinels that have provided shade, beauty, and oxygen to countless generations of city dwellers.

Germany

Berlin's urban forest includes ancient trees that have witnessed the city's turbulent history, from royal gardens to post-war reconstruction. Scattered across parks, avenues, and hidden courtyards, these trees form a living archive of resilience. Some took root when Prussian kings still ruled, while others grew amidst the rubble of bombed streets, silently observing the city’s rebirth into a modern metropolis.
